To meet the basic qualification for this role, you will have legal authorization to work permanently in the United States for any employer without requiring a visa transfer or visa sponsorship. In addition, to be a good fit for the Sales & Business Development Manager opportunity, you will have:

  • A bachelor’s degree in Business, Sales, Marketing, Engineering, or another relevant field is highly preferred.
  • Experience in direct sales, ideally selling to the defense and/or industrial verticals; industry relationships are highly preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience working with the different sales channels, ideally within the military and/or industrial markets. 
  • Solid computer skills including MS Office Suite and CRM software, ideally Salesforce.
  • Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
  • Strong presentation and influencing skills.
  • Self-motivated and driven to succeed.
  • Curious, persistent, resilient; a strategic thinker and innovative problem-solver.
  • Ability to travel regularly for face-to-face client meetings and to close business.

You will work out of your home office located anywhere in the U.S. near a major airport.

As Sales & Business Development Manager, you will support the North American Defense and Industrial markets and be responsible for prospecting, qualifying, and penetrating prospective customers. You will start with a small book of business, which you'll work to expand through both account and new business development. This role is activity-driven from calls to emails and face-to-face customer visits.

The right candidate for this role will excel in building solid relationships, working the deal, and landing business with new customers. S/he will be results-driven, creative, and persistent in their efforts to drive top-line revenue for their assigned products and territory. Specific activities, in the following areas, will include:

Sales Revenue

  • Generating monthly sales forecasts and meeting sales projections.
  • Growing the CTS market share within strategic accounts and continuing to expand the product portfolio.
  • Searching for new market and product opportunities with new customers and the market base, as well as with key existing accounts.
  • Developing sales opportunities.
  • Possessing a full understanding of all opportunities available (TAM/SAM) and developing a clear strategy going forward to capture design-ins and market share of existing products and new products.
  • Understanding the technology and new customized designs.
  • Understanding strategic account product roadmaps and ensuring a clear understanding of CTS’ roadmaps by customer.
  • Finding the design groups responsible for new programs and working with them on new customized designs by organizing CTS' new product development engineer to liaise with customer engineering.
  • Meeting/exceeding design win targets.
  • Performing customer maintenance.
  • Coordinating the resolution of pricing, delivery or quality issues at the strategic accounts.
  • Acting as a customer advocate within CTS for customer quality and delivery issues and initiatives.


  • Providing periodic updates to the Demand team on forecasts for existing products and new design-ins.
  • Preparing and submitting NBWs for all opportunities and following through when engineering resources are required.
