Position Summary

The Temperature Sensing Product Manager is responsible for product planning, marketing, and lifecycle management of product line or portfolio. This includes the definition, creation, and execution of product strategies, including product roadmap, pricing strategies, and cost efficiency plans. Product Manager is expected to own product revenue and margin forecasts that reflect strategic expectations. This role will also be responsible for market, competitive and consumer insights analysis and identification of trends that will lead to product vision, customer satisfaction and profitable growth of the product line portfolio.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Define and execute assigned product strategy within the business unit and product roadmap aligned to global business unit strategy.
  • Align engineering, sales, and other areas of business to the defined strategy.
  • Complete market, competitive and consumer analysis; derive and document trends utilizing key product management tools and frameworks and become market expert for the product portfolio.
  • Define and own business case creation and measure measure/report on key performance metrics.
  • With marketing, develop product positioning, including marketing collateral supporting new product introductions.
  • With marketing, create product technical marketing material, and internal product training including sales tools and collateral.
  • Support sales meetings with product demos and/or technical presentations to customers.
  • Define and execute product pricing strategy based on market and value proposition.
  • Deliver product portfolio revenue, margin forecast and manage product line budget.
  • Identify and coordinate execution of margin improvement initiatives.
  • In conjunction with the global Product Management Team, across all business units, develop and drive best practices to ensure world class Product Management practice within CTS Corporation.

 

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Strategic thinking skills to define product vision and direction, beyond the day-to-day tactical work.
  • Business and financial acumen to contribute to creation of business case, financial analysis of product portfolio, forecasting/budgeting.
  • Leadership and interpersonal skills to align and lead a team without formal authority but through conviction, compassion, and diplomacy.
  • Communication and collaboration skills to keep the cross-functional team coordinated and aligned to critical information.
  • Presentation skills to present in a concise, engaging, and tailored way to a specific audience.
  • Research skills to deeply understand customers and market. Consolidate research into an easy-to-understand documentation and contribute to creation of strategy.
  • Strong customer relationship management skills and ability to translate customer needs to executable product initiatives.
  • Project management skills to coordinate the product strategy and roadmap execution that includes creation of marketing materials and sales supporting training.
  • Analytical skills to measure progress when carrying out the strategy and roadmap, and to find patterns behind the metrics.
  • Quick learner who rebounds from setbacks and adjusts and manages changes effectively.

 

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree Required, preferably in Business or Engineering
  • Minimum of 3 years of product or engineering experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years of Temperature Sensing business experience preferred.
  • 3 years of manufacturing industry experience preferred.
  • Global experience preferred.
  • Must be able to travel up to 20 % domestically and internationally.

The expected annual salary range for this position is $115,000-137,000.

This position is eligible for a discretionary bonus with a target incentive of 10% of base salary.
