Position Summary
The Product Application Engineer is the technical expert who specializes in the optimization, development, and maintenance of a specific product within the organization. The position works closely with various teams such as business development, engineering, and operations to understand customer needs and requirements, and uses this information to enhance existing products or develop new ones. The position is responsible for providing technical support to customers and solving any issues that may arise during the manufacturing and testing of products. A Product Application Engineer must have strong technical skills, communication skills, and project management skills to successfully perform their duties.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide Application-product engineering support to EMC product line.
- Maintenance of existing products, processes, and specifications.
- Initiate and implement continuous improvement activities.
- Define new products expansion opportunities.
- Expand existing platforms to meet customer and market needs.
- Resolve technical issues with customers, manufacturing, and testing.
- Prepare detailed product data sheets.
- Build strong relationships with customers and provide technical support and samples.
- Support Product Management relating to the development of EMC Products.
- Work with our manufacturing site to meet customer needs and development of new products expansions.
- Lead new product pilot runs and reliability tests, and establish Control Plan & FMEA.
- Approve new materials or parts.
- Initiate and implement cost reduction projects to support competitive quoting.
- Participate in other product-related tasks or projects as assigned.
- Support Product Management, Marketing and Sales to promote new and existing products.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Basic knowledge of ceramic manufacturing processes.
- Ability to work with cross-functional global teams.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office products.
- Knowledge of mechanical drawing tools (e.g. AutoCAD, Solidworks).
- Excellent communication and technical writing skills.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Ability to work with multi-cultural teams.
- Strong interpersonal, task management, and problem-solving skills.
- Self-motivation to stay up to date with new technologies.
- Strong time-management skills for meeting deadlines.
- Willingness to travel (expected to be less than 10%).
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of Bachelor of Science Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
- 3 years of experience in Product or Application engineering within electronic components.
- English fluency. Spanish is a plus.

The expected annual salary range for this position is $87-115K.
