This position is based in our corporate headquarters in Lisle, Illinois, a small community that is part of the Chicago metropolitan area ("Chicagoland") as well as the Illinois Technology and Research Corridor. Relocation assistance is available.

To meet the basic qualification for this role, you will have legal authorization to work permanently in the United States for any employer without requiring a visa transfer or visa sponsorship. In addition, to be a good fit for the Director of Human Resources opportunity, you will have:

  • An undergraduate degree in Human Resources or related field. A master’s degree is preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in Human Resources.
  • Previous experience working in manufacturing and engineering related organizations.
  • A proven ability to lead culture change initiatives.
  • Demonstrated experience designing and implementing HR initiatives that positively impact business results.
  • A strategic mindset and the ability to develop and execute a 5-year HR roadmap.
  • Solid experience in all aspects of employee relations and compliance.
  • Strong leadership skills and the ability to influence and persuade others.
  • Experience in complex, multi-location businesses is strongly preferred.
  • International experience is preferred.

Once you are up to speed, we offer the opportunity to work from home two days a week. You also will need to be able to travel, domestically and internationally, about 20% of the time. Within the US you may travel to facilities in Elkhart, Indiana and Farmington Hills, Michigan. Internationally you may travel to plants in China, Mexico, and the Czech Republic. You'll also support smaller teams in Japan, Germany and the United Kingdom, although travel to those locations will be minimal.

You will work closely with the Vice President and General Manager of the Sensors & Mechatronics business unit as well as the corporate Vice President of Human Resources. You'll have indirect reporting relationships with HR contacts in the various locations.


This position is responsible for driving strategic HR initiatives throughout the organization. Partnering closely with the business leaders, this position will identify, design and implement people-related solutions that will positively impact business goals. Major areas of responsibility will include:

  • Developing and executing HR initiatives aligned with the strategic plan and designed to drive business results.
  • Working with leaders to develop a culture that reflects our values and inspires and fosters a high-performance culture, a quality mindset and high employee engagement.
  • Providing business partnership and coaching to leaders on key talent management processes and actions, including succession planning, organizational design, retention, recruitment, performance and development. You'll actively identify gaps, propose and implement changes when necessary and follow up to ensure progress.
  • Leading the HR due diligence and integration process for M&A.
  • Providing leadership to the global HR team, including ensuring all local HR activities are aligned with business objectives, cultural alignment, and compliance.
  • Ensuring a positive employee relations environment through strong relationships at all levels of the company. You'll also provide insights and coaching to the leadership team.
  • Administering, interpreting and complying with federal, state and local employment laws, as well as corporate policies and procedures.

You are joining a business unit with several hundred million in revenue. Our product portfolio is diverse and each location has its own unique goals and challenges. You'll need to be able to juggle the daily responsibilities while also being part of shaping the longer-term strategy. The role has broad responsibilities.
