Job/Position Summary

Key responsibilities include providing financial analysis support and production controlling to the plant. The financial analyst will provide analysis on sales, gross margin, and operating expense for the plant. He/She will also assist in coordinating planning and forecasting activities at the direction of the Plant Controller. The financial analyst will assist in analyzing product and project profitability at the plant and will assist the Plant Controller in identifying and implementing measures to improve plant performance. The Sr. Financial Analyst will support working capital and capex tracking and projecting including building, validating and reviewing business cases as well as managing the post implementation performance of investments and other cost improvement projects. Lastly, the Sr. Financial Analyst will assist the Plant Controller on closing of month, quarter and year end as needed. The position reports to the Plant Controller

Major Areas of Responsibility

  • Primary lead on the site’s activities within forecasts, budgeting, standard costs, cost of working capital and the annual business plan.
  • Participates in the Business Unit monthly close and reporting process.
  • Responsible for the Business Unit’s standard costing and variance reporting.
  • Monitors the implementation of the Business Unit’s strategic initiatives, supplying the financial analysis to assist the management team in making fiscally responsible decisions. 
  • Manages the system of production reporting used to collect data for costing and pricing.
  • Interacts with the various Business unit departments to understand current business issues and financial implications.
  • Presents and reviews financial results to Department Managers
  • Assist the Plant Management Team in analyzing new business opportunities and prepares financial analysis support for quoting processes.
  • Ensures implementation and completion of SOX controls.
  • Assist with local statutory requirements including statistical reportings

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Strong finance and accounting knowledge and skills.
  • Ability to make decisions in accordance with responsibilities and Strong analytical skills required in guiding management decision making process.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide fresh ideas and methodologies to function.
  • Strong planning, organizational, and time management skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong presentation skills and ability to communicate financial information to financial and non-financial managers and well versed on presentation / communication skills to C Level positions.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Excel.

 

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree Business Administration, with an Accounting or Finance major. 
  • Must have at least five (5) years accounting/finance experience in a manufacturing environment and experience setting and working with Standard Costing systems.
  • Experience from SAP S/4hana and Hyperion Financial Management preferred.

Physical Demands

  • Ability to work several hours at a computer
