Position Summary
This position will be responsible to champion the Global Foot Control sales efforts and team in for the CTS Sensor & Mechatronics business. This role will be responsible to establish new sales verticals with current customers as well as identify and development new customer channels to grow revenue and profitability aligned to strategic goals. Acting as a liaison between the customer and CTS, this position will lead the development and implementation of customer engagement plans with their cross functional peer group to enhance interactions and relationships between CTS and its customers. This role will be pivotal to focus on improving customer satisfaction, fostering loyalty, and driving long-term business growth. Additionally, this role will oversee the America’s Sales team from a functional reporting standpoint.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the team to through the total sales cycle to identify, develop, manage and close new business aligned to the global foot control strategic plan.
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with customer senior leaders and decision makers.
- Define, communicate, align, and drive Foot Control growth strategy. Ensure execution.
- Ensure respective customer engagement strategies are in place, communicated, aligned, and updated.
- Contribute to and participate in global strategic planning.
- Monitor customer projects with all involved functional areas to assure approval and success for the projects. Support and lead resolution of challenges where required.
- Lead and coordinate voice of the customer research to understand evolving customer needs that provide a vital input into new product and market development initiatives.
- Serve as liaison between the customer's engineering group and CTS with respect to design and application issues.
- Coach the global team with respect to foot controls. Identify required team skills and competencies and ensure proper team development support.
- Ensure proper on-site technical support for customer and CTS meetings for new product development and current product applications.
- Provide intercultural coaching and training to all regions to ensure highest level of customer understanding.
- Enhance Communication – Establish clear and consistent communication channels with customers for updates on orders, production status, and new product offerings and critical sourcing events.
- Improve Customer Experience – Address customer needs, provide proactive support, and ensure timely responses to inquiries or concerns.
- Personalized Interactions – Utilize customer data to offer tailored solutions, recommendations, and services based on their preferences or purchase history. Collect and analyze customer feedback to enhance product quality, manufacturing processes, and service offerings.
- Build Long-term Relationships – Develop trust and loyalty through transparent business practices, reliability, and value-added services with key decision makers at customers.
- Implement Technology – Implement CRM best practices to ensure part level detail and document retention needs are met. Ensure revenue forecasts, reporting and processes remain up to date and are communicated as needed.
- Provide guidance and support for CTS’s product and engineering team members to ensure alignment between technical, product and sales organizations.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Must have a high level of experience interfacing with customers at various levels within the organization. Demonstrated ability to effectively present information including complex technical content and be responsive to customer requirements.
- Ability to gain strong product development understanding required with intimate knowledge of customer program management requirements.
- Demonstrated understanding of customer standards, specs and requirements as they pertain to offered products, capabilities and systems reporting metrics.
- Strong sales skills with the ability to create tangible interest for new ideas and product opportunities with customer. Deliver customer requirements and methodologies back to internal organization and ensure alignment.
- Demonstrated ability to positively represent company within all regions.
- Strong communication skills required with ability to negotiate with various levels within the customer to translate and deliver CTS message.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills including ability to develop a consensus.
- Must have the ability to lead teams through influence (internal and external teams). Possesses the ability to work and collaborate with teams virtually in a global setting.
- Ability to utilize state of the art office software and to learn new software as required.
- High Integrity, self-starter, strong work ethic, and high level of energy.
- Proven ability to identify, initiate, negotiate, and close deals with corporate customers.
- Proven ability to recruit, direct and manage a successful sales team to exceed performance goals.
- Ability to formulate and implement strategy and tactics in a competitive environment.
Required Qualifications
- Four-year engineering or business degree preferred.
- 5+ years of sales experience or similar externally facing role at major OEM's and Tier One suppliers in the Foot Controls space.
- 5+ years of management experience with sound leadership in automotive industry is a plus.
- Salesforce.com, Tableau and other Customer Relationship Management tool utilization strongly preferred.
Physical Demands
- Domestic and international travel will be required.
- Ability to work several hours at a computer.
- Ability to work extended hours as needed.
