Job/Position Summary

Under the direction of EHS Manager and/or facilities manager the Wastewater Treatment Technician operates and maintains the waste treatment facility performing routine and emergency operation, maintenance and repair functions.

Major Areas of Responsibility

  • Follow all safety, quality procedures, and work instructions.
  • Operate equipment associated with wastewater treatment & DI water preparation.
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose routine problems with processes and equipment.
  • Monitor processes and waste collection/treatment equipment. Collect data from tests and experiments as required.
  • Conduct hazardous waste inspections and maintain collection sites.
  • Assist with preparation of forms and documentation regarding hazardous waste storage and disposal.
  • Assist facilities personnel with miscellaneous equipment maintenance, equipment moves and other tasks on an as needed basis.
  • Maintain housekeeping in the work area.
  • Other related duties as directed by management.

Education and Experience

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent. Experience in lieu of education can be considered.
  • 1-year related experience, such as technical experience supporting a manufacturing environment.
  • Trades knowledge in the use of mechanical, plumbing, electrical diagnostic and repair desired.
  • Reading, writing and communicating in English.

 

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Basic skills such as plumbing, mechanics, and/or electro-mechanical
  • Ability to perform routine computer data entry and queries is required.
  • Knowledge of basic computer operations.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to complete work assignments for the week with minimal supervision. 
  • Excellent interpersonal communications skills. 
  • Ability to work in confined spaces.  
  • Able to work effectively in a team environment.
